Job Summary

The Manager – Events is responsible for the seamless execution of meetings and special events, ensuring all operations align with the brand’s service strategy and core initiatives. This role focuses on translating customer needs into successful events while actively identifying opportunities to grow event-related revenue.

Core Work Activities

Operations & Strategic Management

• Planning & Execution: Develop and lead an event management strategy that supports broader business goals.

• Operational Oversight: Review scheduled events to troubleshoot potential conflicts and ensure the entire property is informed of group impacts.

• Quality Control: Conduct daily walkthroughs of banquet floors to ensure client satisfaction and maintain brand standards.

• Facility Maintenance: Ensure all meeting spaces and “heart of the house” areas are clean, furniture is maintained, and inventory levels meet corporate guidelines.

• Market Analysis: Research and analyze competitor products, pricing, and services to maintain a competitive edge.

Profitability & Vendor Relations

• Financial Accountability: Create and manage the annual banquet budget to ensure all financial targets are achieved.

• Revenue Growth: Encourage calculated risk-taking to generate incremental revenue while maintaining excellent service.

• Partnerships: Build and manage relationships with external vendors, establishing service agreements and pricing that enhance the guest experience and property revenue.

Exceptional Customer Service

• Client Consultation: Meet with customers to determine specific objectives and requirements for meetings, conferences, and conventions.

• Guest Experience: Cultivate an atmosphere across all event operations that consistently meets or exceeds guest expectations.

Candidate Profile

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED; 3 years of experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or a related professional field.

  OR

• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major; 1 year of experience in the same professional areas.
