Job Purpose

The Licensed Aircraft Engineer (LAE) is responsible for performing and certifying Base and Line Maintenance checks on company and customer aircraft. You will ensure that all technical dispatch activities for A320 CEO, A320/A321 NEO, and A330 aircraft comply with Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) regulations, company policies, and approved quality standards to meet business operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance Execution: Lead aircraft maintenance and servicing for SriLankan Airlines and third-party carriers. Ensure all activities use approved methods, tools, and parts in strict accordance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.

• Operational Management: Determine work priorities and manage manpower efficiently to meet targets within specified ground times. Provide accurate reporting on potential AOG (Aircraft on Ground) defects during transits and short turnarounds.

• Team Leadership & Supervision: Productively assign tasks to Qualifying Mechanics, Inspectors, and Technicians. Monitor progress and provide technical guidance to ensure stipulated turnaround times (TAT) are achieved.

• Sustainability & Training: Complete all required training assignments to maintain organizational sustainability and ensure the team is prepared for evolving technical requirements.

• Audit Readiness: Actively participate in audit preparation to ensure minimal findings within the section, maintaining the highest levels of compliance.

• Decision Support: Provide clear progress updates to the Duty Engineer or Check Controller, enabling informed decision-making regarding potential delays or alternate maintenance arrangements.

Requirements

Experience & Licensure:

• Total Experience: A minimum of 5 years in aircraft maintenance.

• Certifying Experience: At least 1 year of experience specifically as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer.

• License: Must hold an AML B1.1 or B2 License.

• Type Ratings: Active full-type approval on one or more of the following:

  • A330 (Trent 700)

  • A320 (V2500 / CFM56-5B)

  • A320 NEO (Leap-1A)

Additional Criteria:

• Citizenship: Must be a Sri Lankan Citizen.

• Age Limit: Maximum 55 years as of the application date.

• Note: Final grading will be determined by the total years of experience as an LAE and the number of active aircraft type approvals held.
