Job Purpose

The Data Analyst is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of data—from ingestion and processing to advanced modeling and presentation. This role bridges the gap between raw data and strategic action, delivering high-impact dashboards, reports, and predictive insights that drive future business opportunities and operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Analysis

  • Data Mining: Extract data from primary and secondary sources, reorganizing it into formats optimized for both human interpretation and machine learning.

  • Preparation & Quality: Lead data cleansing, feature engineering at scale, and exploratory data analysis (EDA) to ensure high-quality inputs for analytical tasks.

  • Hypothesis Testing: Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis, including scientific experiments and hypothesis testing, to validate business use cases.

Strategic Insights & Visualization

  • Dashboard Development: Design and manage operational reports and automated dashboards using Tableau or Safe Harbor to cater to divisional requirements.

  • Business Synthesis: Translate complex research findings into easy-to-understand terms for business stakeholders and senior management.

  • Metric Definition: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as incremental take-up, revenue growth, ROI, and overall campaign effectiveness.

Modeling & Optimization

  • Predictive Modeling: Ensure predictive models are live, automated, and integrated into key business processes.

  • Model Maintenance: Perform periodic revisions and retraining of statistical models to ensure ongoing accuracy and performance.

  • Optimization: Measure the impact of data initiatives and identify further areas for resource optimization and commercial growth.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Stakeholder Influence: Conduct consultative meetings with internal teams to share insights and drive the adoption of new projects and campaigns.

  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Work within agile, cross-functional teams to develop and trial innovative use cases.

  • Grooming & Empowerment: Act as a subject matter expert to train and empower “Edge Users” in SQL and Tableau for self-service data extraction.

  • Documentation: Maintain rigorous documentation of methodologies, source codes, and version control in line with development best practices.

Candidate Profile

Education & Certifications:

  • Degree: BSc in IT, Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Statistics, Software Engineering, Economics, or Business.

  • Technical Training: Completion of Axiata Fast-forward Training and relevant MOOC certifications.

  • Tool Proficiency: Continuous training to become a subject matter expert in SQL, Python, or R.

Technical & Professional Skills:

  • Analytical Rigor: Proven ability to apply scientific methods to solve operational and interpersonal problems.

  • Agile Mindset: Adherence to agile development practices and a high tolerance for ambiguity.

  • Communication: Strong presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Special Requirements:

  • Must achieve a score of 70% or above in the entry-level examination.

  • A passion for creating business value through data-driven storytelling and research.
