LEGAL OFFICER – Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC

ROLE SPECIFICATIONS
- Support the Legal Recovery Unit within the Legal Department by launching prompt recovery procedures for overdue accounts.
- Represent and advocate for the Bank during judicial proceedings as necessary.
- Draft Board Papers in accordance with the Recovery of Loans by Banks (Special Provisions) Act, No. 04 of 1990, including amendments.
- Manage land registry tasks, encompassing the creation and attestation of deeds like Certificates of Sale, Conditions of Sale, and cancellation endorsements.
- Deliver legal advice and expert opinions to the Bank upon request.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualified Attorney-at-Law and Notary Public.
- Ideally possesses at least three (3) years of experience in litigation and notarial duties.
- Skilled in preparing pleadings, security instruments, and associated legal paperwork.
- Strong proficiency in both English and Sinhala, covering written and oral communication.
- Age preference is generally under 30 years.
