Job Description

The ERP Platform Operations Center of Excellence (COE) is seeking a dynamic Lead Software Engineer. In this role, you will analyze complex functional and technical requirements to build enterprise-grade software. You will be a champion for usability, security, and performance, ensuring product sustainability throughout the entire lifecycle.

As a technical leader, you will participate in design reviews, apply established engineering principles, and mentor others to ensure high-quality code and team growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Development: Lead high-complexity technical designs and develop fit-for-purpose software that adheres to IFS standards.

  • Quality Assurance: Perform complex technical testing, debugging, and code reviews to locate and resolve flaws effectively.

  • Technical Leadership: Drive solution discussions, evaluate alternative architectures, and ensure appropriate test coverage.

  • Mentorship: Provide direction through coaching, knowledge sharing, and creating high-quality training materials/documentation.

  • Global Collaboration: Partner with global business process owners to develop scalable, customer-driven solutions.

Required Competencies

  • Architectural Documentation: High proficiency in documenting code, design choices, and the “why” behind technical decisions.

  • Performance Optimization: Sound knowledge of algorithms, indexing, caching, and managing memory footprints.

  • Functional Design: Ability to transform business requirements into consistent, user-friendly features.

  • Integration & Security: Understanding of integration mechanisms (Cloud, SaaS, On-prem) and software security best practices.

  • Leadership: Strong communication skills to lead internal presentations and technical discussions.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Education: Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.

  • Experience: 3–4 years of relevant professional experience.

  • Technical Stack: Proficiency in PL/SQL, C#, .NET, Java/Java EE, and JavaScript.

  • Databases & Tools: Knowledge of Database Management Systems, BPA, and version control/orchestration (e.g., GIT, Kubernetes).

  • Global Readiness: Ability to work in a distributed global setup, including EU shift flexibility and on-call rotations.

  • Communication: Fluency in English.

Desirable

  • Experience with integration platforms such as Dell Boomi, REST APIs, JSON, or SOAP.

  • Familiarity with Agile and ITIL platforms (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, IFS Assyst).
