Job Description

We are introducing a pivotal DevOps Engineer role within the Ultimo Product Development Group. This position is designed to centralize and elevate our environment management and pipeline strategies. You will be the “connecting party” across all stages of development, ensuring our infrastructure scales reliably and our DevOps foundation evolves alongside our modern engineering standards.

Your primary mission is to build, optimize, and maintain a high-performance deployment pipeline—the backbone of secure and efficient software delivery. You won’t just follow established processes; you will set the direction, influence best practices, and lead the charge toward a mature, forward-looking DevOps culture.

Key Duties & Accountabilities

• Infrastructure Management: Own and maintain key deployment hardware and QA environments to ensure maximum stability and availability.

• Pipeline Excellence: Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins) to increase deployment frequency and reduce errors.

• Process Evolution: Bridge the gap between Development, QA, and Operations to continuously improve the software delivery lifecycle.

• Automation & Monitoring: Automate build processes and troubleshoot environment performance, deployment stability, and test data integrity.

• Security & Compliance: Ensure all development environments meet rigorous security, quality, and operational standards.

• Knowledge Leadership: Create technical documentation and mentor colleagues in adopting modern DevOps tools and practices.

Qualifications

Required Experience & Skills

• Education: University degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Experience: 4+ years of demonstrable DevOps experience, specifically with Microsoft Azure.

• CI/CD Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with GitLab and Jenkins, including pipeline design and multi-environment deployment automation.

• Scripting: Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

• Environment Management: Proven experience managing both on-premises and virtualized hardware for software testing and deployment.

• Soft Skills: Proactive, detail-oriented, and analytical with excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with enterprise-scale SaaS deployment models.

• Proficiency in both Windows Server and Linux environments.

• Familiarity with networking, security, and monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or Azure Monitor.
