The Role

We are looking for a dynamic Executive – Category Management to oversee our Fresh Produce category. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing margins, and navigating the unique complexities of the fresh food market. You will blend analytical insights with strategic sourcing to ensure our customers receive the highest quality produce at the best value.

What You Will Do

• Category Performance: Manage the sales performance of the Fresh Produce category, ensuring that profit margins remain aligned with company objectives.

• Pricing Strategy: Execute pricing adjustments and promotions in strict alignment with Keells’ established pricing policies.

• Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement innovative sourcing strategies to optimize procurement costs while maintaining product freshness and quality.

• Market Adaptation: Stay agile in response to volatile market conditions, seasonal shifts, and evolving consumer buying behaviors.

• Trend Analysis: Analyze industry data to identify emerging consumer trends and product category shifts, translating insights into actionable business plans.

• Project Management: Lead and complete category-specific projects within defined timelines, ensuring high-quality implementation and operational excellence.

What You Need

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Marketing, or Physical Sciences. Alternatively, a professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or CIM.

• Technical Skills: Up-to-speed with modern purchasing best practices and highly proficient in MS Office (specifically Excel).

• Analytical Ability: Familiarity with market research, data analysis, and demand forecasting techniques.

Core Competencies:

• Negotiation: A demonstrable aptitude for effective and ethical negotiation with suppliers.

• Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

• Organization: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Market Savvy: A deep interest in the fresh produce industry and a commitment to quality standards.
