The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Manager – Quality Assurance to lead our quality management functions in Katana. You will be responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing processes and final products meet rigorous international standards and customer specifications. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in polymer and fiber materials, leadership in managing a QA team, and a deep commitment to continuous improvement and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Compliance & Certifications: Implement and maintain a robust framework for international certifications, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, BRC, SEDEX/SMETA, FSC, and SA 8000.

• Material & Process Control: Monitor raw materials (rubber, PVC, fiber, yarn, paints, chemicals) for compliance. Oversee in-process and final inspections, ensuring parameters like color consistency, pile height, density, and pattern accuracy are met.

• Systems & Reporting: Update the SAP system with inspection data and prepare comprehensive final inspection reports.

• Continuous Improvement: Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for customer complaints and drive effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).

• Audit Management: Conduct internal audits and facilitate external audit processes. Ensure products meet strict export standards for EU and US markets.

• Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of QA Executives, Supervisors, and Inspectors. Coordinate quality-related training across all levels of the operation.

• External Coordination: Manage 3rd party laboratory testing and facilitate customer-arranged shipment inspections.

• Sample Management: Oversee the retention, shipment, and organization of customer-approved samples.

Candidate Profile

Experience & Education:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Agriculture, NDT, Polymer Science, Chemistry, or Industrial Engineering.

• Experience: 3–5 years of QA experience, specifically within PVC, Rubber, and Coir carpet manufacturing.

• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of quality standards for Rubber, PVC, and Coir materials. Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and RCA tools (Fishbone, 5 Whys).

Core Competencies:

• Systems Knowledge: Solid understanding of Management System Certifications and their implementation.

• Leadership: Proven ability to manage a technical team and drive a culture of quality.

• Communication: Strong reporting skills with the ability to present technical data to stakeholders.
