The Role

As an Engineering Technician, you are a vital part of the “theatrical performance” that delights our guests. You will ensure the hotel remains in peak condition, moving beyond the handbook to deliver service from the heart. Whether it’s a guestroom repair or behind-the-scenes mechanical maintenance, your work ensures perfectionism with personality.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service & Technical Support

• Guest Response: Promptly attend to guestroom repair requests, communicating professionally to resolve issues and ensure guest satisfaction.

• Preventive Maintenance: Clean, lubricate, and inspect tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room machinery to prevent downtime.

• General Repairs: Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on plumbing (toilets/drains), electrical components (lamps, switches, outlets), and cosmetic items (drywall, wood trim, painting).

• Systems Operation: Identify and operate all utility shut-offs for buildings and equipment. Perform light bulb and A/C filter replacements.

Operational Safety & Excellence

• Safety Standards: Strictly follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and all company safety/security policies. Report any hazards, accidents, or injuries immediately.

• Digital & HVAC: Use basic computer skills to manage air handler schedules and adjust temperatures via building management systems.

• Inventory & Coordination: Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts as needed, and document daily activities to ensure seamless handovers between shifts.

• Landscaping: Perform minor repairs on both interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinkler systems.

Candidate Profile

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

• Experience: Previous experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, or painting. Experience in a luxury hotel environment is a significant plus.

• Attributes: Authentic, outgoing, and inspired by high-quality service and design excellence.

Required Qualifications:

• License: A valid Driver’s License.

• Communication: Proficiency in clear, professional English.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs (and heavier items with assistance).

• Comfortable navigating stairs, service ramps, and ladders.

• Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, and stooping.
