The Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Intern – Merchandising to join our team in Biyagama. This internship offers hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of apparel merchandising, providing exposure to material sourcing, sample development, and product data management within a global supply chain.
Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Coordination: Liaise with suppliers to gather material details, track deliveries, and support the material ordering process.

Sample Development: Assist in sample planning, the creation of job cards, and regular follow-ups to ensure development timelines are met.

Inventory & Trim Management: Support sample material inventory control and the management of trim cards.

Technical Testing: Assist with the management and execution of heat-transfer testing.

Cost Analysis: Support the team in analyzing cost breakdowns and margins to ensure high data accuracy.

System Management: Input and maintain accurate product data across various systems, primarily PLM and capacity planning tools.
Knowledge and Skills
Education & Qualifications:

Currently following or have completed a Degree or Diploma in Business Management, Marketing, or a related field.
Core Competencies:

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a burgeoning ability to negotiate.

IT Literacy: Proficient in MS Office (specifically Excel) with an aptitude for learning enterprise systems.

Detail Orientation: Ability to maintain accuracy while handling data and inventory tasks.

Proactive Mindset: A strong desire to learn and contribute to a high-performance team environment.
