Role Overview

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, and oversight of substation and solar projects. This role requires high-level technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget while maintaining strict compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Lead and manage the full lifecycle execution of solar project sites and substation installations.

• Supervision: Oversee project teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.

• Operational Planning: Develop detailed project schedules, allocate resources efficiently, and monitor ongoing progress.

• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all works adhere to electrical safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal company policies.

• Technical Oversight: Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of complex electrical systems.

• Financial Management: Manage project budgets, track costs accurately, and drive project profitability.

• Reporting & Risk: Prepare regular status reports for management, identify potential project risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.

• Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Procurement, and Operations.

Candidate Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering OR NVQ Level 5/6 qualification.

• Experience: * Degree holders: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

  • NVQ Level 5/6 holders: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

• Leadership: Strong people management skills with the ability to lead diverse project teams.

• Project Management: Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and multiple projects simultaneously.

• Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Aptitude: High attention to detail and a commitment to technical accuracy.
