The Role

Teardrop Hotels is looking for a proactive and tech-savvy IT Intern to join our headquarters in Colombo. This role provides hands-on experience in a dynamic hospitality environment, where you will assist our IT team in ensuring seamless technical operations across the group. It is an ideal opportunity for a student or recent graduate looking to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world helpdesk and system maintenance scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Support: Provide assistance for day-to-day helpdesk operations and address technical issues for staff.

• Systems Maintenance: Assist in the upkeep and routine maintenance of IT systems and hardware equipment.

• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve basic hardware, software, and network connectivity problems.

• Software Management: Support the installation, configuration, and updating of operating systems and core applications.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate records, system documentation, and IT inventory logs.

• Operational Mobility: Be available for local travel to property sites when technical support is required on-location.

Prerequisites

Education & Knowledge:

• Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Technical Basics: Foundational knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Microsoft Windows), and networking principles.

• Software: Familiarity with the MS Office suite and standard business applications.

• Problem-Solving: A strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot issues methodically.

• Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills for effective team and user interaction.

• Adaptability: A high level of “coachability” and a willingness to learn new systems and processes quickly.
