The Role
As the Assistant Manager – Fabric Technology, you will oversee the end-to-end fabric development and bulk delivery process for the Customer Business Unit (CBU). This role involves mill evaluations, technical risk assessments, supply chain troubleshooting, and ensuring optimal profitability and compliance. You will lead the Fabric Technology and Raw Material (RM) Inspection teams while ensuring strict adherence to organizational Health & Safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning: Develop and execute CBU Fabric Technology strategies, focusing on RM lead times, risk assessment, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Fabric Development: Drive development for key customer accounts to meet stringent lead time and quality targets.

Bulk Execution: Manage bulk outputs, including technical risk management, OTD/OTIF (On-Time Delivery / On-Time In-Full), and inspection compliance to safeguard profitability.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to align technical processes with overall CBU goals.

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the CBU Fabric Technology team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and accountability.

Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Manage mill performance and maintain high standards of supplier compliance and quality.
Candidate Profile
Education:
-
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Textile Technology, Fashion Designing, Clothing Technology, Fabric Technology, or a related technical stream.
Experience:
-
6 to 8+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain or Merchandising functions.

Strong technical knowledge of raw materials, fabric construction, and RM inspection processes.

Proven commercial acumen and experience in managing large-scale bulk delivery.
Technical Competencies:

Knowledge of RM Technology (P3): Deep technical expertise in fabric performance and manufacturing.

Supply Chain Insights (P3): Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end apparel supply chain process.

Customer Insights (P2): Ability to translate customer needs into technical specifications.

Commercial Acumen (P2): Understanding the financial impact of technical decisions.
