The Role

At Radisson Blu Resort Galle, we look for individuals who bring more than just a resume—we seek character, talent, and a genuine passion for hospitality. As the Assistant Manager Engineering (HVAC), you will be a vital guardian of our guest experience. You will ensure our property’s mechanical systems operate at peak efficiency, creating a comfortable and seamless environment that exceeds expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Departmental Mission: Comply with and uphold the hotel’s mission and standards in all maintenance activities.

  • Team Optimization: Lead the maintenance team with a balanced focus on guest satisfaction, employee engagement, and owner interests.

  • Workflow Management: Oversee daily maintenance tasks, work orders, and special projects, ensuring they are completed accurately and on schedule.

Technical Oversight

  • System Compliance: Ensure the physical plant, property grounds, and work areas meet brand standards and safety codes.

  • Documentation: Maintain meticulous records for all plant and equipment, including detailed repair and service logs.

  • HVAC Expertise: Provide high-level technical support for the resort’s climate control systems, ensuring guest comfort at all times.

Training & Development

  • Skill Building: Train engineering staff on correct maintenance procedures and safety protocols.

  • Hands-on Support: Assist in complex repairs as needed, serving as a technical mentor to the team.


Candidate Profile

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Proven Track Record: At least 10 years of experience with reputed hospitality brands, including 3–5 years in international star-class hotels (overseas experience highly valued).

  • Education: A Technical Diploma in Engineering or a specialized HVAC field.

  • Technical Mastery: Expert knowledge of centralized chiller plants, refrigeration, air-conditioning systems, and Treated Fresh Air (TFA) units.

Core Competencies:

  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.

  • Leadership: Ability to manage and inspire a diverse group of technical professionals.

  • Mindset: A positive, “can-do” attitude with the ability to work independently while fostering a team-oriented environment.
