The Role
The Executive – Category Management is responsible for driving growth and profitability within their assigned categories. You will merge customer insights with strategic buying and merchandising to ensure our range is both customer-centric and commercially successful.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Sales Growth

Trade Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive trade plans aimed at increasing sales and expanding customer penetration within the category.

Category Strategy: Design and implement strategies that optimize space allocation to maximize both profitability and customer satisfaction.

Trend Forecasting: Use data to identify evolving customer preferences and forecast upcoming consumer trends.
Procurement & Merchandising

End-to-End Ownership: Manage the complete buying and merchandising process, ensuring the product range is profitable and insight-driven.

Supplier Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers on pricing and terms to enhance profit margins for your categories.

Investment Management: Work with the promo income team to negotiate and develop a robust supplier investment portfolio.
Collaboration & Execution

Promotional Strategy: Partner closely with the Trade Planning operations group to plan and execute effective monthly promotions.

Cross-Functional Teamwork: Act as a positive team player, contributing to collective goals and the overall success of the retail team.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience:

Education: A Degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or a professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or CIM.

Experience: Prior experience in the FMCG sector is considered a distinct advantage.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
