Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS), manufacturer of Elephant House Soft Drinks and Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings, PLC.
The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Senior Executive – Finance – New Projects – Consumer Foods Sector. The position is responsible for managing the organization’s payment processes and supporting treasury-related activities, including bank reconciliations, liquidity monitoring, and coordination with financial institutions. This role ensures that all payments are processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Further, the role supports financial discipline by identifying process gaps, improving payment workflows, and maintaining effective controls, with the objective of ensuring efficient and compliant financial operations within established guidelines.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and manage cash flows and treasury operations.
- Prepare and present cash flow forecasts to the CFO.
- Monitor borrowings and interest payments, and optimize the cost of funds.
- Manage cash and working capital cycles.
- Ensure all bank reconciliations are completed by SSC by the 25th of each month, covering all transactions up to the 24th, and that month-end bank reconciliations are completed on the first working day of the following month.
- Manage foreign currency transactions.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including banks, to negotiate favorable interest rates, exchange rates, and funding arrangements.
- Create Purchase Requisitions for all Finance Department services and process Service Receipt Notes (SRNs).
- Meet all monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deadlines while ensuring the accuracy of information.
- Assist the Assistant Manager – Finance in preparing the Annual Plan, Reforecast Plan, Annual Report, and Balance Sheet Schedules.
- Manage payment processes, including vendor payments, foreign payments, statutory payments, and creditor settlements. Ensure all payments are accurate, timely, properly documented, and compliant with reporting requirements.
- Maintain relationships with banks for operational requirements, including bank account opening, maintenance, and documentation. Coordinate loan-related activities, monitor interest and repayments, ensure compliance with facility terms, and support foreign currency transactions and international remittances.
Person Specifications
- Part qualified in ICASL, ACCA or CIMA and a degree in finance.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience, preferably in payments, or treasury functions.
- Sound knowledge in Financial Accounting and Treasury Management.
- Good understanding of business financial flows and operational dynamics, enabling effective support for payment processes and coordination across multiple operating units and central functions.
- Broad Understanding Forex & Statutory/Regulatory Requirements.
- Decision Taking & Problem-Solving Skills.
- Proactive, with the ability to take initiative and follow through on actions.
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent interpersonal skills.
