The Role

The General Manager – Planning is responsible for driving the end-to-end planning process for their assigned product category. You will align operational capacity with the overarching business plan, Long-Range Plan (LRP), and strategic roadmap to achieve top-line revenue and profitability targets. This leadership role involves optimizing capacity across multiple units, enhancing process efficiency, and ensuring world-class on-time delivery while adhering to all organizational Health & Safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Lead the planning process for the assigned product category to meet budgeted profitability and top-line targets.

  • Capacity Optimization: Oversee effective capacity planning across all units within the category to ensure maximum resource utilization.

  • Stakeholder Management: Manage and strengthen relationships with customers and vendors to ensure seamless order continuity and execution.

  • Operational Excellence: Collaborate with front-end and operations teams to achieve functional objectives and drive continuous improvements in planning productivity.

  • Innovation & Technology: Introduce and implement new planning technologies and process improvement initiatives in alliance with cross-functional partners.

  • Leadership & Mentorship: Provide strategic guidance, training, and performance management for the Planning teams, fostering a high-performance culture.


Candidate Profile

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Over 12 years of experience within the Planning function, with a proven track record of implementing best practices and improvement projects.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience heading the planning function for multiple factories.

  • Strong exposure to the apparel industry’s integrated value chain and best-in-class planning systems.

Technical Competencies:

  • Analytical Skills (P2): Highly proficient in data-driven decision-making and performance tracking.

  • Knowledge of Planning Systems (P2): Expertise in modern ERP and advanced planning tools.

  • Integrated Planning Perspective (P1): Ability to synchronize complex supply chain variables into a cohesive plan.

  • Customer & Value Chain Insights (P1): A holistic understanding of how planning impacts the end-to-end customer experience.
