  • Company Name: Air Arabia PJSC

  • Job Location: Sharjah, United Arab Emirates

  • Company Careers Email Address: cv@airarabia.com

  • Average Salary Market Data (UAE): AED 15,000 – AED 25,000 per month (Based on UAE aviation market data for mid-to-senior engineering/supply chain management positions, heavily dependent on years of experience, budget scale, and specific aircraft platform expertise).

Job Purpose

Responsible for ensuring component availability, cost efficiency, fleet reliability, and strict regulatory compliance. This role oversees the effective management of component planning, pooling, repair and overhaul (MRO), exchange, leasing, procurement, supplier oversight, and warranty recovery. The Manager develops and executes component support strategies, manages multi-million-dollar budgets and contracts, minimizes operational disruptions, and actively mitigates “Aircraft on Ground” (AOG) risks to support safe and reliable fleet operations.

Key Result Responsibilities

  • Pool & Inventory Optimization: Define, manage, and continuously optimize the rotable and repairable component pool (owned, leased, and third-party agreements). Analyze fleet size, utilization, reliability trends, and operational risks to balance high availability with investment efficiency.

  • AOG & Asset Management: Manage component exchange and pooling programs, including ACMI and wet lease arrangements. Implement proactive strategies to reduce downtime and guarantee network-wide support.

  • MRO Contract & Repair Management: Oversee relationships and long-term contracts with approved MRO providers for component repair and overhaul. Monitor Turn-Around Time (TAT) against benchmarks, apply corrective actions for delays, review repair orders, evaluate Beyond Economic Repair (BER) cases, and authorize scrap decisions.

  • Regulatory & Quality Compliance: Ensure all repair, overhaul, and release activities strictly comply with regulatory and airworthiness standards (GCAA, EASA, Airbus, and manufacturer requirements). Guarantee full component traceability with valid airworthiness documentation (e.g., EASA Form 1, FAA 8130).

  • Procurement & Vendor Governance: Lead component procurement in tandem with the Supply Chain department. Negotiate and manage long-term agreements, including Power-by-the-Hour (PBH) programs. Evaluate, onboard, and audit MRO partners while tracking vendor KPIs (quality, TAT, and cost).

  • Financial Control & Warranty Recovery: Own and manage the components budget, tracking spend versus forecast. Maximize financial recovery by liaising with OEMs and warranty teams, and drive cost reductions through pooling optimization and reduced parts cannibalization.

  • Data Integrity & Systems: Maintain high data integrity within aviation ERP/MRO systems (e.g., AMOS, Oracle). Track shelf life, modification statuses, and overhaul due dates, and build visible reporting dashboards.

  • Leadership & People Management: Provide direction, coaching, and career guidance to team members. Foster a performance-driven, highly engaged, and compliant workplace culture in line with company procedures.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering, Aviation Management, Supply Chain, or a related technical discipline.

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep familiarity with Airbus A320 Family components is highly preferred. Thorough understanding of Airworthiness, alongside GCAA/EASA regulations regarding component certification and traceability.

  • Systems & Analytics: Proficiency in specialized aviation MRO software (e.g., AMOS, Ramco) and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities. Strong analytical skills for analyzing reliability data and demand forecasting.

  • Core Competencies: Expert negotiation and vendor management skills, with the ability to navigate complex cross-functional stakeholder relationships.

  • Language: Full professional fluency in verbal and written English.

Work Experience

  • Industry Tenure: A minimum of 8+ years of experience in an airline materials/components environment or an aviation MRO setting.

  • Leadership Tenure: At least 3 years of experience in a management or supervisory role, preferably operating within a multi-hub, multi-airline environment.

  • Contractual Expertise: Proven track record of directly managing MRO vendor contracts, long-term supply agreements, and Power-by-the-Hour (PBH) frameworks.
