Position Summary

As the Chef de Partie (Bakery), you will lead the production of high-quality baked goods, pastries, and specialty breads. You are responsible for ensuring that every item—from the morning croissant to the evening dessert—meets our rigorous standards for taste, texture, and presentation. Beyond technical execution, you will act as a mentor to junior staff, ensuring the kitchen operates with precision and creativity.

Key Responsibilities

Bakery Operations & Quality

  • Production Excellence: Prepare and bake a variety of items according to established recipes, quality standards, and food preparation checklists.

  • Oven Management: Expertly regulate the temperatures of ovens and specialized baking equipment to ensure perfect results.

  • Quality Control: Monitor the quality and quantity of all baked goods, ensuring proper portions, arrangements, and garnishing.

  • Planning & Prep: Manage the thawing process for ingredients and maintain accurate food logs to track production and waste.

  • Communication: Inform the Executive Chef of excess items for daily specials and keep the service staff updated on bakery highlights or out-of-stock items.

Leadership & Team Support

  • Mentorship: Assist management in training, coaching, and motivating junior associates, serving as a professional role model in the kitchen.

  • Operational Flow: Communicate effectively when additional assistance is needed during high-volume periods to maintain seamless service.

  • Conflict Resolution: Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Safety & Professionalism

  • Compliance: Follow all company safety, security, and health procedures; report any maintenance needs or unsafe work conditions immediately.

  • Standards: Maintain a clean and professional appearance in uniform and strictly uphold quality assurance expectations.


Candidate Profile

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree in Culinary Arts or Pastry/Bakery.

  • Experience: At least 3 years of related professional experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen.

  • Leadership: While formal supervisory experience is not required, the ability to guide and train others is essential.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.

  • Capability to reach overhead and below the knees (bending, twisting, and stooping).

  • Ability to move, lift, or carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
