Job Purpose

The Relationship Manager is responsible for the professional management and growth of corporate banking relationships, working in close coordination with the Corporate Unit Head and the Head of Corporate Banking.

Principal Accountabilities

Portfolio Management & Growth

  • Relationship Retention: Manage an assigned portfolio of existing corporate clients to retain and grow their business in a profitable manner, meeting assigned growth targets.

  • Client Acquisition: Identify and acquire new corporate clients in alignment with bank strategies for Assets, Liabilities, Trade, and Treasury Sales.

  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of corporate business strategies by staying informed of local business trends and developments.

Credit & Risk Management

  • Credit Negotiation: Negotiate appropriate credit lines according to the Bank’s underwriting standards and risk-adjusted targets.

  • Proposal Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis to prepare detailed and high-quality credit proposals.

  • Monitoring & Compliance: Ensure timely completion of annual reviews and monitor financials and covenants regularly. Maintain strict compliance with internal audit and policy guidelines.

Client Engagement & Cross-Selling

  • Site Visits: Conduct regular client visits for both monitoring and business generation, ensuring all interactions are documented via timely call reports.

  • Wallet Share Optimization: Partner with Client Service teams to cross-sell products and services, increasing the share of wallet and referring opportunities to Wealth and Consumer Banking divisions.

  • Networking: Develop and maintain a strong network of local business and financial institution contacts.

Leadership & Communication

  • Team Supervision: Manage a team of Support Officers by setting annual targets, providing professional guidance, and conducting performance reviews to enhance their capabilities.

  • Service Excellence: Maintain professional internal and external communication to ensure designated turnaround times (TAT) and high levels of client satisfaction.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or Business Management.

  • Experience: 4–6 years of experience in Corporate Banking, with at least 2–3 years specifically as a Relationship Manager.

  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in drafting and analyzing comprehensive credit proposals.

  • Eligibility: This position is exclusively open to UAE Nationals.
