Overview of the Role

As a Sales Assistant at Toys R Us, you will play a vital role in driving sales and enhancing the customer experience. You will be the face of our brand, interacting directly with customers to help them find the perfect products while ensuring the store remains welcoming, clean, and organized. Success in this role requires a positive attitude, clear communication, and the ability to execute operational tasks efficiently under the guidance of the store management team.

What You Will Do

Sales and Customer Service

• Store Standards: Maintain a sparkling clean and organized shopping environment.

• Engagement: Greet every customer immediately with a warm, sincere, and friendly welcome.

• Product Knowledge: Provide customers with up-to-date and relevant information regarding our product range.

• Service Excellence: Offer high-quality service in fitting areas, follow up with customers promptly, and look for opportunities to suggest complementary items.

• Transaction Management: Provide efficient service at the cash wrap, promote gift cards, maintain a tidy checkout area, and accurately capture customer data.

• Farewell: Sincerely thank every customer for their visit and invite them to return.

Operational Duties

• Ensure a consistently positive customer journey from entry to exit.

• Execute various operational tasks assigned by management, including housekeeping and maintaining visual merchandising standards.

Required Skills to be Successful

• Communication: Strong verbal skills to engage effectively with a diverse customer base.

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for at least 8 hours and perform heavy lifting as required.

• Technical Literacy: Basic proficiency in design-related software (CAD) is a unique plus for this specific role.

• Detail-Oriented: A keen eye for maintaining a welcoming and organized store layout.

What Qualifies You for the Role

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a retail sales environment.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) packages such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Illustrator, or Photoshop.

• Physical Requirements: Ability to perform manual labor, including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods.
