Position Summary

As a Chef de Partie, you will play a vital role in our kitchen’s success, responsible for managing a specific section and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. You will lead by example, preparing and cooking dishes according to established recipes while maintaining strict adherence to safety, sanitation, and portion control.

Key Responsibilities

Culinary Operations

  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook hot and cold food items according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.

  • Technical Precision: Regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters. Prepare special dietary meals or substitute items as requested.

  • Quality Control: Monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food, ensuring proper portions, arrangements, and garnishes.

  • Inventory Management: Manage thawing cycles by pulling food from freezers to refrigerators. Maintain detailed food logs and inform the Executive Chef of excess items for daily specials.

  • Front-of-House Coordination: Communicate menu specials or “out of stock” items to the Food & Beverage service staff.

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Mentorship: Assist management in training, coaching, and motivating junior team members; serve as a professional role model in the kitchen.

  • Communication: Use clear and professional language to coordinate with the team; signal for assistance during peak periods to ensure smooth service.

  • Collaboration: Develop positive working relationships and support the team in reaching common goals and maintaining quality standards.

Safety & Professionalism

  • Compliance: Follow all company safety, security, and sanitation policies. Report maintenance needs, accidents, or unsafe conditions immediately.

  • Appearance: Maintain a clean, professional uniform and personal appearance.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; reach, bend, twist, and lift or carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree in Culinary Arts or a related field.

  • Experience: At least 3 years of related work experience in a high-volume or luxury hotel/restaurant environment.

  • Supervisory Experience: No prior supervisory experience is required, though leadership potential is highly valued.

  • Attributes: Strong attention to detail, a passion for culinary excellence, and a proactive attitude.
