Position Summary
As a Commis II, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality ingredients for cooking, which includes accurate portioning, chopping, and proper storage of food items. Daily duties involve washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients according to established recipes. You will prepare and cook both hot and cold food items in strict accordance with brand recipes, quality expectations, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
This role requires the safe operation of standard kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. You will continuously monitor food quality, test foods to ensure they are cooked sufficiently, and verify correct temperatures for both appliances and food products. Additionally, you will be responsible for setting up and breaking down your assigned workstation, serving food in proper portions onto the correct receptacles, and maintaining a clean, disinfected kitchen area (including tables, tools, knives, and equipment).

Safety & Compliance: Follow all company, safety, and security policies and procedures; immediately report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager; complete all required safety training and certifications.

Professionalism: Maintain a clean, professional uniform and personal appearance; protect the confidentiality of proprietary company information and safeguard company assets.

Communication & Teamwork: Speak with colleagues and supervisors using clear, professional language. Develop and maintain positive working relationships, support the culinary team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of fellow employees.

Quality Assurance: Ensure strict adherence to kitchen quality expectations, hygiene protocols, and culinary standards.

Physical Requirements: Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time across an entire work shift. Reach overhead and below the knees, which includes bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Ad-hoc Duties: Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Kitchen Supervisors and Chefs.
Preferred Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related culinary or commercial kitchen work experience.

Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience required.

License or Certification: None required.
