Job Summary
The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for all food and beverage operations across the property, including all culinary, restaurant, beverage, bar, and room service operations. This position oversees guest and employee satisfaction, maintains strict brand standards, and meets or exceeds departmental financial goals. The role requires comprehensive knowledge and proficiency of all applicable local and international food and beverage laws and regulations, alongside the ability to develop and implement effective operational business plans.
Candidate Profile
Education and Experience
-
High school diploma or GED; and 4 years of experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or a related professional hospitality area. OR
-
A 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major; and 2 years of experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or a related professional hospitality area.
Core Work Activities
Developing and Maintaining Budgets

Develop, manage, and execute all financial, employee engagement, and guest satisfaction plans for the Food and Beverage departments.

Maintain a positive cost management index and control expenses for kitchen and restaurant operations.

Utilize departmental budgets effectively to understand, track, and achieve property financial objectives.
Leading the Food and Beverage Team

Manage daily operations for all Food and Beverage outlets (excluding catering sales).

Supervise and manage employees, maintaining a thorough understanding of all staff positions to perform duties in an employee’s absence when necessary.

Utilize strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage team members; advocate for sound business decisions and lead by example with honesty and integrity.

Oversee all culinary, restaurant, beverage, and room service operations.

Create and nurture a workplace environment that emphasizes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, continuous improvement, and a passion for service excellence.

Provide proactive coaching, counseling, and clear performance expectations to team members.

Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among all team members while monitoring and maintaining productivity levels.
Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service

Provide excellent customer service, responding quickly and proactively to all guest concerns.

Understand the brand’s unique service culture and drive the alignment of all employees, team leaders, and outlet managers to it.

Set clear service expectations for all internal and external guests.

Take personal ownership of guest complaints or problems until they are completely resolved or appropriately addressed.

Verify that all banquet and outlet functions are up to standard and exceed guest expectations.

Improve overall service by communicating guest feedback, providing guidance, and offering individual coaching to staff when needed.
Managing and Conducting Human Resource Activities

Provide ongoing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting clear performance standards and monitoring operational execution.

Conduct employee performance reviews in a timely and constructive manner.

Promote corporate HR initiatives, including the Guarantee of Fair Treatment and Open Door policies.

Identify the developmental and educational needs of the team; develop formal training programs and mentor others to improve their knowledge and skills.

Develop and execute strategic action plans to address need areas and expand on strengths based on employee engagement and guest satisfaction survey results.
Additional Responsibilities

Comply fully with all corporate accounting and financial procedures.

Provide timely updates to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates via telephone, written reports, email, or in person.

Analyze operational information and evaluate results to choose the best solutions and solve complex problems.

Drive effective departmental communication and information tracking through logs, daily briefings, department meetings, and property-wide leadership meetings.
