The Role

Embark on a journey of change as a Senior Merchandiser – Bulk at our MDS facility in Ratmalana. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless production flow. Your focus will be on securing a continuous supply of raw materials, optimizing capacity utilization, and meeting stringent customer requirements while minimizing financial write-offs.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Customer Management

• Calendar Execution: Ensure the timely completion of all key activities pre-determined in the customer calendar and develop detailed execution plans for internal teams.

• Superior Communication: Maintain high-level customer engagement by providing order/liability updates and accurate raw material progress charts.

• Escalation Point: Act as the primary contact for production issues, leveraging technical knowledge and customer insight to minimize losses.

Procurement & Supplier Excellence

• Supplier Relations: Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships, negotiating competitive terms and pricing while ensuring quality and quantity standards.

• Supplier Evaluation: Lead supplier performance evaluations to ensure the highest quality of service and adherence to delivery timeframes.

• Commercial Terms: Manage Performa Invoice (PI) confirmations and portal acceptances to facilitate timely procurement.

Inventory & Production Support

• Inventory Control: Manage raw material stocks and “Dummy/Liability” stock to support factory service levels while minimizing write-offs.

• Technical Merchandising: Oversee BOM creation, PO releases, and bulk color approvals to ensure production starts on time.

• Material Coordination: Secure raw material in-house dates and coordinate factory integration for bulk materials (Red Tag/Purple Seal sampling).

Reporting & Performance Agility

• Data-Driven Tracking: Create weekly order tracking reports, sales forecasts, and variance reports (OTD, PSR/OTR) for management perusal.

• Project Initiatives: Identify and drive new projects and initiatives to enhance performance agility and excellence within the business unit.

• Shipping Oversight: Guide the team in shipping arrangements and documentation to ensure adherence to specific international requirements.

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience:

• Academic Background: A Degree or Management qualification in a relevant field; an MBA is highly desirable.

• Professional Status: Fully qualified professional in a relevant discipline.

• Work Experience: 3–4 years of relevant experience in bulk merchandising within the apparel industry.

Skills & Competencies:

• Relationship Management: Excellent customer relationship management skills and the ability to navigate complex group dynamics.

• Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with production, planning, and technical teams.

• Problem Solving: Proactive in identifying risks and implementing accurate Time & Action (T&A) plans to resolve unforeseen issues.

• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills suitable for a global corporate environment.
