Role Overview

The General Manager – SLAC will serve as the strategic architect of the college’s future. This pivotal role ensures the institutionalization of global teaching methodologies and world-class instructional standards. The focus is on driving academic excellence—consistently evidenced by high student pass rates and professional success—while balancing academic rigor, commercial acumen, and high-level corporate governance.

Key Accountabilities

• Strategic Leadership: Lead SLAC as a Strategic Business Unit, aligning training delivery and business operations with global market needs to position it as a globally competitive academy. Drive the integration of cutting-edge AR/VR and AI-driven learning technologies.

• Business Development: Develop and implement strategic business plans, growth initiatives, and operational strategies to enhance profitability, strengthen market positioning, and support long-term expansion.

• Financial Governance: Oversee comprehensive financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and revenue-generation activities while ensuring effective cost management and optimal resource utilization.

• Regulatory Compliance: Guarantee that all training operations, academic programs, and activities fully comply with applicable regulatory, quality, and accreditation standards (including CAASL, IATA, EASA, ISO, and other international bodies).

• Culture & Talent Pipeline: Build a high-performance, customer-focused culture by developing top-tier leadership and expert faculty. Elevate SLAC as a “SriLankan Excellence” brand and a vital talent pipeline for both the national carrier and the global aviation industry.

• Executive Reporting: Provide timely, accurate, and strategic insights, performance updates, and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors to support informed corporate decision-making.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education & Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years of work experience at a Managerial level in a relevant discipline.

  • OR A full professional qualification equivalent to a degree with a minimum of 10 years of post-qualifying experience at a Managerial level in a relevant discipline.

• Age Limit: Not more than 55 years of age as of 28th May 2026.

• Nationality: Open to Sri Lankan citizens only.

• Preferred Assets: Prior experience as an Academic Head, Dean, or Institute Head with a proven track record of managing end-to-end business operations in a related field will be considered a distinct advantage.
