About the Role

Empower transformation by becoming a driving force of change at MAS. We are on the lookout for a dedicated professional to monitor, manage, and execute all aspects pertaining to industrial relations and labor compliance standards at the Strategic Business Unit (SBU), ensuring strict adherence to internal policies, procedures, and statutory guidelines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Social Compliance: Manage overall adherence to social compliance standards. Create awareness, establish operational procedures, conduct regular monitoring, and defend the organization’s interests across all compliance matters.

  • Disciplinary Management: Oversee the complete disciplinary management procedure. Carry out independent inquiries, draft formal show-cause notices, scrutinize candidate explanations, and communicate findings to ensure the timely and lawful resolution of issues.

  • Legal & Court Representation: Represent the company in labor court cases, industrial disputes, and public forums. Coordinate and guide external lawyers regarding inquiry proceedings to maximize legal protection for the company.

  • External Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact and coordinate with the Employers’ Federation of Ceylon (EFC) for all labor-related matters.

  • Policy Development: Regularly review, revise, and update internal HR policies and practices to ensure seamless alignment with shifting national labor laws and compliance standards.

  • CSR Management: Coordinate and execute Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in close liaison with relevant internal units to ensure smooth project delivery.


Knowledge and Skills (Requirements)

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, or Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management, Law, Human Resources, or a related field.

  • Experience: 2–3 years of proven experience overseeing HR operations and compliance aspects.

  • Domain Expertise: Direct exposure to handling industrial relations along with a strong, practical knowledge of Sri Lankan labor laws.

  • Core Competencies: Excellent written and verbal communication, alongside strong analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
