We are seeking a dedicated Merchandiser – Development to join our Biyagama team. In this role, you will be the driving force behind the development cycle—from the initial “Proto request” to the final buy process—ensuring we meet sales targets and deliver exceptional service levels to our global partners.


Key Responsibilities

System & Process Management

  • PLM Administration: Create and maintain accurate style pages within the Product Lifecycle Management (LM) system and development portals.

  • Data Integrity: Ensure all system information is updated in a timely manner and secure necessary approvals for any deviations to maintain earnings thresholds.

  • Buy Processing: Identify specific styles and volumes upon receipt of orders, executing all buy-processing activities and distributing details to relevant teams.

Sample Development & Coordination

  • Nike Development Kits: Initiate development meetings upon receipt of proto kits and disseminate critical information to all stakeholders.

  • End-to-End Coordination: Oversee the Proto, GGP (Global Geo Pivot), or SPA (Seasonal Partner Alignment) sample development processes.

  • Sourcing & Execution: Coordinate the sourcing of fabric and raw materials, supporting the 3D sample development process to ensure timely delivery of high-quality samples.

  • Collaboration: Liaise with the Product Development Centre (PDC), planning, and sourcing teams to secure approvals for fit, costing, and embellishments.

Financial & Relationship Management

  • Costing & Negotiation: Prepare detailed costing sheets and negotiate pricing terms, lead times, and minimum order quantities (MOQs).

  • Customer Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with key customer decision-makers and act proactively to provide tailored solutions.

  • Project Support: Facilitate customer onsite visits and specialized sampling projects to ensure product quality and timeliness.


Candidate Profile

Education & Experience:

  • Academic Background: A Degree in Marketing or a relevant professional qualification.

  • Experience: 1–2 years of experience is preferred, particularly with knowledge of product development, fabric types, embellishments, and sampling processes.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder management.

  • Negotiation: Ability to negotiate terms that balance customer needs with business objectives.

  • Organization: Exceptional time management and the ability to handle multiple development priorities simultaneously.

  • Technical Savvy: Comfort working with PLM systems and an interest in modern development tools like 3D sampling.
